Giovanni Polimeni

Giovanni Polimeni is the General Manager for New South Wales and the ACT at BESIX Watpac. Over his 20 year career with the company, he has led the delivery of some of the region’s most complex, high profile and city shaping projects across government and private sectors.

Giovanni’s portfolio includes transformative works such as the $390 million Sydney Metro Barangaroo Station, the landmark Poly Centre commercial tower in the heart of Sydney, and the multi award winning mixed use development York & George. He has also overseen more than $400 million in Defence infrastructure, as well as data centres and multiple marine and waterfront projects – each contributing to the economic growth and social resilience of communities.

He is currently overseeing work within a development program publicly valued at almost $2B. This includes the delivery of the highly anticipated new Shellharbour Hospital, the St George Hospital Stage 3 Redevelopment, the Moore Park Precinct Village project adjacent to Allianz Stadium, and the Woolworths Sydney Fresh and Chilled Distribution Centre – the largest industrial development of its kind in the southern hemisphere. He also oversees Bank Street Park, an anchor project in the revitalisation of the Blackwattle Bay precinct, which is targeting 50% female participation during construction and setting a new benchmark for social impact in urban renewal.

Giovanni’s leadership is defined by a commitment to collaboration, safety, quality and high performing teams. He holds a Bachelor of Building (Construction Management) and a Diploma in Structural Engineering.
