Wade Cummins is the General Manager for Queensland, Northern Territory, and New Zealand at BESIX Watpac. With over 16 years at the company and 26 years of experience in the construction industry across Australia and internationally, Wade has built a career defined by the successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects for both government and private clients. His collaborative approach and unwavering focus on quality outcomes have been central to the success of these projects.
With a portfolio that includes overseeing the delivery of more than $700 million in Defence infrastructure, as well as some of the company’s most iconic projects – the $683 million One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha in Christchurch, the $288 million Kangaroo Point Bridge in Brisbane, the $120 million Sun Metals Zinc Refinery Expansion in Townsville, the $318 million Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville, and the $405 million Herston Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) health facility in Brisbane – Wade brings extensive experience and proven capability to his leadership role.
Wade adopts a client-centric approach, building strong collaborations that drive high-performance outcomes. This is reinforced by his focus on cultivating partnerships with the company’s extensive network of subcontractors. Together with his team, Wade has fostered a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork, underpinned by his deep expertise in construction planning, delivery, and contractual frameworks. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering – Civil (Hons).
