Tamworth gets a new and improved protein plant

Following a fire that destroyed the original facility, BESIX Watpac delivered a new, world-class protein plant for Baiada Poultry. In addition to design and construction, we also handled building assessment, insurance negotiation and coordinating all services. The design phase involved liaising with the client's Danish equipment suppliers to ensure that the new space would adequately accommodate the necessary machinery. One 1,000 kVA and four 1,500 kVA HV transformers were required to power the new facility. Additional works were also undertaken, including the creation of new access roads and civil infrastructure to suit the redesigned building layout.
