Movember: Big Walk to Work
This Movember, Marc McCready took on a challenge that was as bold as it was inspiring - a 96km walk from the Gold Coast to Brisbane over two gruelling days, which he dubbed the #BigWalkToWork.

Facing rain, scorching heat, and Queensland’s signature humidity, Marc pushed through with one clear goal: to raise awareness for men’s health. Joined by his son and fellow teammates for the final 1.5km stretch, Marc crossed the finish line to a chorus of cheers, applause, and a well-earned cold drink from his family and colleagues.
Marc described the walk as one of the toughest things he’s ever done - but also one of the most meaningful. The motivation behind Marc’s walk is deeply personal. Earlier this year, at age 47, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Marc credits the awareness campaigns run for Movember as a Thanks to early detection, Marc is here to share his story and encourage others to take action.
“I’m raising awareness to help prevent dads, brothers, uncles and sons from being taken from their families too soon by testicular cancer. Let’s not rely on luck - let’s raise awareness so men can spot the signs and seek early treatment.”
- Marc McCready.
Marc’s incredible effort is a powerful reminder that conversations about men’s health matter. So check in with your mates, know the signs, and take action early.
