Strong productivity outcomes are shaped by decisions made early in a project's lifecycle and carried through every stage of delivery.
At the Ipswich Hospital Expansion, the team assessed a range of construction methodologies before selecting an integrated jump form system that offered significant time and cost benefits over alternative approaches.
The methodology enables core walls to be poured every 11 days, compared with around 25 days using other methods. The result is a significant productivity boost that is helping keep the program moving.
The project team also worked closely with partners to develop an innovative approach to the construction of the precast stair towers, allowing them to be constructed ahead of the main structure using crawler cranes.
The results speak for themselves, with the structure now reaching Level 10, façade installation progressing to Level 7 and fit-out works underway to Level 7.
Together, these initiatives highlight the value of careful planning, collaboration and selecting the right construction methodology for the job.
