A Safe Day, Every Day: Delivering One NZ Stadium with zero Lost Time Injuries
As excitement builds for the opening of Christchurch City Council’s One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha, we reflect on the delivery that was on time, on budget and uncompromising on safety.

Across nearly 2.4 million hours worked and 3,895 people inducted, the project recorded an outstanding result: zero Lost Time Injuries. An achievement made even more significant given that working at heights was a significant part of construction.
From day one, safety was embedded into every activity, with a strong focus on managing high‑risk work such as working at heights. Through collaboration, innovation and targeted safety‑first initiatives, the team kept safety front of mind – every single day.
This is a credit to the strength of collaboration between our team and the Christchurch City Council team for building this strong culture of safety, and to everyone on site who embraced and upheld it throughout the project.
