World-class aquatic centre for all to enjoy

As part of an expansion of facilities and amenities at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus, BESIX Watpac delivered a FINA-accredited 50 metre swimming pool, gym and retail outlet. We worked closely with the engineer throughout design to rationalise the structural plan and prioritise efficiency and simplicity to bring the project within budget. The Aquatic Centre allows Griffith university to host a range of sporting competitions, as well as providing the local community with a world-class facility. The high standard of finish proved crucial during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, as the Aquatic Centre offered athletes access to exemplary facilities for training.
