#Overview
Brisbane City Council’s visionary Kangaroo Point Bridge not only provides a long-anticipated pedestrian and cycling link between Kangaroo Point and the CBD, it has also become a premier destination for visitors and a source of pride for the people of Brisbane.
More than a bridge, the bridge provides several unique riverside dining opportunities in addition to connecting two vibrant communities to create a thriving riverine precinct.
With a length of 460 metres, it is one of the longest span cable stay pedestrian bridges in the world and combined with its graceful elegance, it is now an enduring landmark of Brisbane.
The project was delivered by the BESIX Watpac led 'Connect Brisbane' team, which includes Rizzani de Eccher, WSP, Blight Rayner, Dissing and Weitling, Aspect Studios, RWDI, F-POV, UAP, Right Angle Studios and Rowland, representing the world’s leading bridge design and delivery expertise.
Kangaroo Point Bridge was built and designed using the Infrastructure Sustainability Council Design and As-Built Rating system. This helped to deliver economic, social and environmental opportunities and benefit the design and construction phases of the project.
