Woolworths SCFDC Enters Final Year of Construction

The Woolworths Sydney Chilled and Fresh Distribution Centre (SCFDC) in Western Sydney has entered its final year of construction on schedule.
Here’s a snapshot of the major progress our team has made so far:
- 47,000m³ of concrete poured
- More than 7,000 solar panels installed
- 8.6 acres of roofing sheets laid
- 2,240 workers inducted on site
- 420m of barriers installed
The project features chilled and fresh warehousing across two floors and, once complete, will be the largest temperature-controlled distribution centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

Breaking ground at Bank Street Park - a milestone for gender diversity in construction
Construction is now underway on the 1.1-hectare Bank Street Park, a NSW Government Women in Construction pilot project being delivered by BESIX Watpac in partnership with Infrastructure NSW. The project is targeting an industry leading outcome for women’s participation, with the BESIX Watpac project team made up of almost 90% women.
