BESIX Watpac is pleased to announce the appointment of long-serving employee, Giovanni Polimeni as the company’s new General Manager for New South Wales (NSW).

Stepping into the role from his previous position as BESIX Watpac’s Operations Manager for NSW, Mr Polimeni brings with him an exceptional 18-year career within the company and 23 years in the industry, as well as a deep understanding of the clients and business dynamics in the region.

Mark Baker, Chief Executive Officer of BESIX Watpac, expressed his confidence in the appointment of Mr Polimeni to this role.

"Giovanni is part of the fabric of BESIX Watpac NSW and his exceptional understanding of the region honed over nearly two decades with the company positions him as a valuable leader in his new role,” Mr Baker said.

“Giovanni’s appointment also demonstrates BESIX Watpac’s commitment to recognising and fostering talent from within – his unwavering dedication to our company and collaborative leadership style will be instrumental in his position as General Manager for NSW.”

Mr Polimeni steps into the role from his most recent position as BESIX Watpac’s Operations Manager for NSW. During this time, he managed the construction division from an operational perspective in New South Wales, leading teams to deliver projects safely and to the highest quality standards.

Over the last almost two decades with the company, Mr Polimeni has managed large and complex projects such as Sydney Metro Barangaroo Station, the award-winning Poly Centre and many others across multiple sectors.

A committed and collaborative leader with a key focus on excellence, Mr Polimeni said he looks forward to strengthening BESIX Watpac’s position in the region.

“I am eager to continue fostering our strong client and partner relationships in the state and will continue to work closely with our network to achieve the best outcomes on the projects BESIX Watpac delivers while also continuing to build our NSW portfolio,” Mr Polimeni said.

“We have a fantastic team in NSW and we have time and again proven our ability to deliver complex projects. Our team’s ability to deliver projects in challenging CBD locations has resulted in numerous industry awards.”
