BESIX Watpac takes over as principal contractor on Barangaroo Station
Work is now officially underway on the fit out of Sydney Metro’s Barangaroo Station with BESIX Watpac taking over the site as principal contractor.

John Holland CPB Ghella has formally handed over the site completing tunnelling and station excavation.
BESIX Watpac will now deliver the underground station platforms, full fit out and station entrance, as well as road works, and public domain establishment including footpaths, cycling facilities, tree planting, lighting and street furniture.
The two-year program will create 300 jobs at the peak of construction with the station due to open in 2024.
Barangaroo Station is part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project which will deliver faster rail journey times across Greater Sydney.

Works on the remarkable Kangaroo Point Bridge, a project delivered by the BESIX Watpac-led Connect Brisbane consortium for Brisbane City Council, have reached completion with the milestone marked by an official opening on Sunday 15 December.
