Youth detention centre at Woodford
#Overview
The new youth detention centre at Woodford supports the Queensland Government’s goal to provide more regional youth detention services, facilitating connection to family, community, Country, and support services during detention and when returning to the community. As a therapeutic centre it includes more home-like accommodation units; consultation and treatment rooms; multi-purpose spaces for education, skills development, and training; areas for physical activity, green spaces, and spaces for cultural connection.

#Delivery
The project will deliver two 40-bed campuses, each with its own secure perimeter, while also being enclosed within a shared secure boundary. Each campus will feature units accommodating no more than eight beds. The development will include 17 built facilities, landscaped areas, roadworks, and car parking. It will also involve the provision and upgrading of essential services to support the operation of the facility.
