An industry leading
approach to inclusivity

Wrapping around the southern pylons of the iconic Anzac Bridge, the new 1.1-hectare waterfront park on Bank Street creates a welcoming space for the community to gather, connect, and enjoy the harbour’s edge. As the first green space delivered in Blackwattle Bay’s wider revitalisation, the park launches an exciting urban renewal that will transform over 10 hectares of former industrial land. It will form a key link in the future 15-kilometre continuous harbourfront walk from Woolloomooloo to Rozelle Bay and sits directly adjacent to the new Sydney Fish Market. Notably, Bank Street Park is the first project in NSW to proactively target a stretch goal of 50% women in construction - well ahead of the 12% industry average.

Delivery certainty for lasting community outcomes 

BESIX Watpac’s collaborative approach, deep technical expertise and strong local networks will be central to managing the project’s complexities and delivering its objectives - from the marine environment, existing site conditions and stakeholder interfaces to adaptive reuse, existing assets, and the respectful integration of First Nations cultural elements and heritage.

Redefining industry standards through gender equality

As a NSW Government Women in Construction pilot project, Bank Street Park has set a bold stretch target of 50% female workforce participation. Our project team is driving this through inclusive site design, gender‑responsive procurement, expanded training pathways and leadership opportunities across engineering, design, health and safety, and project delivery. Together, Infrastructure NSW and BESIX Watpac are testing scalable approaches to large-scale industry-wide reform, with more insights to come as the project evolves.
