BESIX Watpac and local Ballarat builder H.Troon teamed up to build the St John of God Hospital redevelopment in Ballarat – one of the largest private hospitals in regional Victoria. This important redevelopment enables St John of God Health Care to continue its history of 107 years of service to the community of the Grampians Region. The redevelopment also injected 100 new jobs into the region during construction.

Partnering to deliver excellence
Works included construction of a five-level tower including a new main entry and links to the existing hospital, 10-bed Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU), four new operating theatres, 30-bed in-patient ward, and shell spaces for future wards, theatres and consulting suites. Modifications to the existing Medical Services Building will involve relocating the Central Sterile Services Department, upgrading pathology, expanding the Cardiovascular Intervention Laboratory, and one Cath Lab Shell.
