Vertical school for Fitzroy

Forming part of the former Gasworks redevelopment in Fitzroy North, we delivered a six-storey school with capacity for 650 students. The ground floor includes an entry forecourt, bicycle storage, offices, indoor sports courts, and an amphitheatre with performing spaces. Levels one to five provide a variety of learning spaces and facilities for different departments, as well as a second indoor sports court on level three. A tiered rooftop terrace provides students with outdoor areas and a third sports court. The design for the school has provision for the construction of a future multi-level sports centre that would be operated independently of the school.
