Key milestone at Werribee Mercy Hospital marked with Ministerial visit
Construction of the expanded emergency department at Werribee Mercy Hospital continues to progress well, with a key milestone now reached following the completion of the front and rear canopies.

Designed to provide weather protected access for patients, visitors and staff, the new canopies will also support the smooth movement of emergency services across the site.
To mark this milestone, our team recently joined Minister for Health Infrastructure Melissa Horne MP, John Lister MP, Sarah Connolly MP and Mathew Hilakari MP for a site tour to see the incredible progress taking shape.
The new emergency department is set to double current capacity and increase patient treatment spaces from 33 to 67, including dedicated areas for paediatrics and adult mental health.
The project is being delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority in partnership with BESIX Watpac and Mercy Health.
