BESIX Watpac set to deliver major airport expansion in South Australia
BESIX Watpac is delivering expansion major expansion works as part of the next phase of Adelaide Airport’s infrastructure upgrade program – Project Flight – building on a 15-year partnership that has seen six projects delivered across the precinct.

This next stage will be pivotal in delivering the capacity to accommodate Adelaide’s 2050 aviation network vision. It involves an expansion to the check-in hall and technology as well as a 10,000sqm expansion to the Northern Terminal and 5,500sqm expansion to the Southern terminal.

Adelaide Airport Managing Director, Brenton Cox, said, “Our passenger numbers are at record levels, and we are planning for that airline connectivity to continue to grow – so we are also continuing to deliver the infrastructure required to accommodate that growth.
“Our expanded check-in space will incorporate the latest technology for check-in kiosks as well as more bag-drop facilities to create a more seamless process.”
BESIX Watpac has delivered works in landside, airside, sterile and Border Agency areas of the airport including the major expansion completed in 2021. The company is currently delivering upgrades to the passenger screening and baggage handling systems.
