BESIX Watpac John Holland Joint Venture named one of the dual ECI proponents for Brisbane Stadium
BESIX Watpac John Holland Joint Venture has been selected as one of the dual Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) proponents for Brisbane Stadium – Queensland’s future home of major sporting and entertainment events and the main venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Entering this next phase of the project, the two organisations bring together complementary strengths in stadium experience, deep knowledge of complex infrastructure and a long history working in Queensland.
Mark Baker, Chief Executive Officer of BESIX Watpac said this is a significant moment for the Brisbane-headquartered company.
“We’re proud to have been selected by the Games Independent Infrastructure Coordination Authority and Queensland Government to progress to the next stage of development. This is a moment we’ve been building towards, and we’re ready to get the job done.”
“This project presents an opportunity for BESIX Watpac to demonstrate our capability, building on a legacy that includes the delivery of every major stadium in the state and more than 100 years of heritage in Queensland.
“With a strong track record delivering projects of this scale and complexity, our focus is on applying our proven stadium and venue experience to support a successful and efficient delivery approach.”
John Holland Chief Executive Officer Nick Miller said, "Brisbane Stadium is an absolutely iconic project and we are honoured and excited to be invited to participate in the next stage with our JV partner BESIX Watpac. We look forward to drawing on our collective experience and expertise in stadia delivery and working closely with GIICA and the Queensland Government as the process continues."
Looking ahead, BESIX Watpac and John Holland will work closely with delivery partners and stakeholders to progress through the dual ECI phase over the coming months.
